PITTSBURGH - In honor of National Breast Cancer Awareness Month, the Pittsburgh Affiliate of Susan G. Komen for the Cure is participating in a charity auction featuring 46 items of Pittsburgh Steelers and Pittsburgh Penguins memorabilia. After the auction ends Saturday, October 27, at 10 p.m., Total Sports Enterprise will donate all proceeds from the auction to the Komen Pittsburgh Affiliate.
The Internal Revenue Service is issuing a warning about a new tax scam that uses a website that mimics the IRS e-Services online registration page.
If you find a suspicious website that claims to be the IRS, send the siteâ€™s URL by email to firstname.lastname@example.org. Use the subject line, 'Suspicious website'.
Tyrell Francis Ott, 26, of 1473 Bucktail Rd., St. Marys, died Wednesday, Oct. 24, 2012 in Summerville, Pa. as a result of a motor vehicle accident.
He was born May 31, 1986 in St. Marys, son of the late Gregory Ott, who died on Nov. 17, 1998, and Amy Ott-Hanes of St. Marys, who survives.
He had resided in Colorado from 1987 to 1993 before returning to St. Marys. He was a graduate of St. Marys Area High School, Class of 2004. He was currently a chef at Marloâ€™s Place in St. Marys.
Ruth M. Wasson, 99, a resident of Pinecrest Manor and formerly of 327 Walnut St., St. Marys, died on Tuesday, Oct. 23, 2012 at Pinecrest Manor.Â
She was born on April 17, 1913 in St. Marys and was the daughter of the late Alfred and Irene McHenry Loeffler.
On June 28, 1941, she married Arthur C. Wasson at Sacred Heart Parish in St. Marys. He preceded her in death on Dec. 5, 1989.
The temporary bridge in Penfield was built through Joanie Georginoâ€™s side yard and very close to her front yard. One would think with all the truck traffic through there that it would be very noisy. Joanie said, â€śNo, just the opposite. Due to the good construction of the temporary road, it is quieter than the old road.â€ť
Trick or Treat Night in the Township is Wednesday, October 31 from 6 until 8 pm.Â Children are invited to a hayride to the park for treats, hot dogs and a drink.

Rebecca J. Rhodes, 57, of 406 North Broad St., Ridgway, died on Tuesday, Oct. 23, 2012, at Life Care in Natrona Heights.
She was born Oct. 13, 1955, in Ridgway, the daughter of Max and Dorothy Amacher Dillon. On June 14, 1975 she married Lynn Rhodes, who survives.
Mrs. Rhodes was a lifelong Ridgway resident. She was a member of the Faith Church. She enjoyed camping, knitting, playing Farmville on the computer, Facebook and being with her grandchildren. Prior to her 2003 kidney transplant, she had been employed at Elk Haven Nursing Home, Community Nurses and was also a babysitter.
With the holidays rapidly approaching, many teenagers will be behind the wheel visiting family and friends â€¦ and often copying the driving behavior of their parents.Â But, is that a good thing?Â Not necessarily.
