The Elk County Catholic Crusader basketball team picked up another victory on Wednesday evening as they defeated the visiting DuBois Area Beavers 60-42 in a game played at the ECCHS gymnasium.
The St. Marys Area Lady Dutch lost a 60-50 District 9 League game to the Bradford Lady Owls Thursday night at the SMAHS Dutch Oven.
In the final 8:24 of the game, Bradford was able to outscore St. Marys by a 22-11 margin to win the game.

Ruth M. Baumgratz, 82, of 521 Church St., St. Marys, died Wednesday, Jan. 30, 2013 at her residence after a lengthy illness.
She was born Sept. 21, 1930, in Dunkirk, N.Y., daughter of the late Albert and Sophia Wojcinski Griswold. On Sept. 25, 1954 in Dunkirk, N.Y. she married Carl F. "Harry" Baumgratz; who survives.
She was a graduate of Dunkirk High School, Class of 1948, and resided in St. Marys since 1952. She was a former employee of Stackpole Carbon Co., and Berman's & BJ's Apparel.
At Tuesday's meeting of the Elk County Solid Waste Authority, Solid Waste/Recycling Coordinator Bekki Titchner said so far area residents were doing pretty well adhering to the new ban on disposing of electronic waste items.

Ruby Gamarino, 92, of Brockport, died peacefully Sunday afternoon, Jan. 27, 2013 at the DuBois Regional Medical Center surrounded by her family.
She was born Dec. 14, 1920 in Ridgway, the daughter of the late Joseph and Sadie Steis.
She was a graduate of St. Leoâ€™s School. She worked at Stackpole Carbon for four years, at the 5 and 10 Store in Ridgway for three years, and at Brockway Glass for three years.
