The St. Marys Little League Baseball 10/11 all-star squad rallied for a 15-14 victory over the Punxsutawney stars on an extremely warm Saturday afternoon at Memorial Park.
Going into the bottom of the sixth, St. Marys trailed 14-9. They were able to score six times in the home half of the sixth inning to pull out the victory.
The St. Marys Little League Softball Senior League all-stars were handed their first loss of the season in the District 10 senior league championship game against Bradford on Saturday afternoon at Benzinger Park. After an hour and a half rain delay, Bradford put in a strong performance, shutting out St. Marys 10-0 in six innings, to force a second game today to decide the District championship.
Kelsey Fritz went the distance on the mound for St. Marys, giving up six hits, walking three, and striking out seven.
With the upcoming annual evaluation of City Manager Dave Greene in September, St. Marys City Council members at Monday's meeting voted to change the manager's evaluation policy by eliminating language which stated it must be used solely for determining the manager's salary.
Council member Bob Roberts said this is a result of the evaluation having never been used for its intended purpose of determining the amount of compensation the city manager receives, adding that the manager's rate of compensation has traditionally been the same as that paid to other non-union employees.
The Fox Township Supervisors expressed their disagreement with PennDOT's latest rule requiring municipalities apply for the Highway Occupancy Permits and accept responsibility for the maintenance of all requests to enclose surface stormwater facilities.

Betty L. Scrimshaw, 80, of 1056 Theresia Street Apt A., St. Marys, died on Sunday, July 1, 2012 at Elk Regional Health Center following a brief illness.
She was born on Dec. 31, 1931 in Philadelphia, a daughter of the late Hartson and Beatrice Kilduff Watson.
She was married to the late Robert Johnson and the late Wayne Scrimshaw.
Mrs. Scrimshaw attended the Emporium Free Methodist Church.Â She enjoyed gardening, sewing and spending time with her family.Â
Frances K. Dragovich, 91, of Apple Street, Weedville, died on July 3, 2012 in Wellsboro.
Born on Dec. 27, 1920 in Weedville, she was the daughter of the late Stanley and Pearl (Fraizer) Robinson of Weedville.â€¨Frances was a homemaker and during WWII she worked in Emporium at the Sylvania plant where she met her husband Nick, who was in the Hunts Run CCC Camp in Emporium.
The St. Marys Little League Junior League All-Star baseball team was handed their first loss on Friday evening as they fell to Bradford 11-8 in a contest played at Memorial Park.
Kyle Williams started on the mound for St. Marys, working three and one-third innings and giving up nine hits, walking four, and striking out three. Pat Schlimm took over for one and two-thirds of an inning, giving up one hit, walking three, and striking out two. Nate DaCanal worked the final two innings.
The St. Marys Little League Baseball Major League All-Stars were eliminated from the District 10 South Division Tournament Thursday night at Memorial Park by the DuBois all-star squad by a 14-3 score.
Last nightâ€™s game was the finals of the loserâ€™s bracket. DuBois will now travel to Punxsutawney Saturday night for an 8 p.m. game against Punxsutawney. If Punxsy wins, they are the South Division champ. If DuBois wins, another game will be played to determine the division champ.
The St. Marys Little League Softball Minor League All-Star team was eliminated from the District 10 tournament on Thursday evening with a 16-1 four-inning loss to Warren at Benzinger Park.
St. Marys, the visiting team, got on the scoreboard first with their lone run, but then was unable to answer as Warren scored 16 unanswered runs over the course of three innings to claim the victory.
