Posteraro has some ‘bright’ ideas as businessman

St. Marys native and budding entrepreneur Mark Posteraro has combined several diverse interests in developing new businesses. Now living in State College, Pa., he is a partner in Bright Box Ideas, a fledgling website development and marketing company.
We (Posteraro and business partner Justin Eleazer) started the company about a year ago. The main focus of the company is to create affordable, usable websites for small businesses,” Posteraro said.

Surra shares wrestling knowledge at University of Cumberlands

After spending last winter as an assistant wrestling coach at St. Marys Area High School, Doug Surra is now a graduate assistant for the women's wrestling team at the University of the Cumberlands, which is located in Williamsburg, Ky. University of the Cumberlands boasts one of the top NAIA (National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics) women's wrestling programs in the country.

Engel keeping systems in check

Parana creating dessert delights on historical estate

St. Marys native Susan Krieg Parana can take flour, eggs and a few other ingredients and create desserts to die for as the executive pastry chef at the Lioncrest Reception and Banquet center at the 8,000-acre Biltmore Estate in Asheville, N.C., a National Historic Landmark and once the home of prominent businessman and philanthropist George Vanderbilt.
"My occupation is more of a passion than a job. Each day is a challenge and searching for new recipes sometimes follows a long day," Parana said.   

Market developer Green both city slicker and country girl

Anyone who knows St. Marys native and Raleigh, N.C. resident Elizabeth Green, knows her to be a worldly and successful businesswoman, but one who is as at home in the country as she is in a city. In her career as a market development manager with DNA Group Inc., she has traveled the globe while remaining a small-town girl at heart.
Born in St. Marys, she is the youngest of three children born to Tom and Marie Green. Her siblings are Marilyn Deppen and Carl Green.

Nedzinski sold on sales, life in the Lone Star State

After 31 years in the graphite business, St. Marys native (since the age of 5) Gary Nedzinski, now a resident of Plano, Texas, still enjoys what he is doing.
Currently a sales manager for carbon graphite company MWI, Inc., Nedzinski worked summers at Stackpole Carbon Company during his college years while earning his undergraduate degree in Liberal Arts at the University of Pittsburgh.
Nedzinski graduated from Sacred Heart School and is a 1968 graduate of Elk County Christian High School, where he was vice president of his senior class.

Lovenduski finding personal rewards in education

Force native Jacinta Lovenduski is discovering the joy of educating young minds as a third grade teacher at Broad Street Elementary in Butler, Pa., about 35 miles north of Pittsburgh. Now in her third year in the education field, Lovenduski said she believes teaching is the most rewarding job there is.
"I enjoy teaching because of the transformation that the students make over time. To be able to share in their achievements is a wonderful feeling," Lovenduski said. "Every day is a new adventure. They (her students) make me laugh and are a joy to be around."

Softball and social work passions for Mulvany

St. Marys native Kara O'Dell Mulvany is preparing to embark on a career of advocating for others as a social worker. She graduated from Bethany College in 2008 with a B.S. in Psychology and is currently in her last semester at the University of Pittsburgh at Johnstown. In December, she will graduate with an M.S. in Social Work and will then take a licensure test to become a Licensed Social Worker.
Mulvany is currently employed at the Three Rivers Center for Independent Living (TRCIL) as a Service Coordinator.  

Heary making $ense of financial world

John Heary, 37, is well-versed in the state of the country's economy as Lead Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) Analyst at the Federal Reserve Bank of Philadelphia.
"The Federal Reserve Bank organization is a great place to work in general. Whether you’re at a main office, a branch office or at the Board of Governors in Washington, D.C., there is something for everyone," Heary said. "Not everyone might think highly of what we do or what we stand for, but the 13 years I’ve been here, I can proudly say to others who I work for.

Flynn to be featured on 'My Collection Obsession'

St. Marys native Darlene Flynn, now a resident of California, first saw her cousin Karen Caradonna's shoe collection in October of 2000 and was inspired to begin one herself. Little did she know at the time, but over a decade later she would be inspiring others with a record-setting collection of her own.
"I just thought it was the coolest thing," Flynn said of her cousin's shoe collection. "She had about 500 shoes at the time. I started the collection in November of 2000 and now have more than 15,000 shoe-related items in my home."
