14th annual Rendezvous wraps up with auction

The 14th Annual Ridgway Chainsaw Carvers Rendezvous wrapped up Saturday with a large auction which started at noon and featured 200 pieces, each sculpture donated by a different carver. Visitors crowded around the Udarbe Business Towers. where carvings were arranged along the street for all to view.

Expo highlights area businesses

A steady crowd was on hand Saturday for the Business Expo held at The Red Fern in St. Marys from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Many area business vendors participated in the event. Elk Regional Health Center held a Patient Appreciation Day in the back room of the facility where several representatives from their various service areas had displays set up for visitors. Among those visiting the expo were Congressman Glenn Thompson (R-5).

James Link's howling wolf stands a little more than three feet in preparation for the 14th Annual Chainsaw Carvers' Rendezvous. Carvers are arriving in town and setting up early.

James Link of New York created this great owl standing at about 21 in. tall, a howling wolf at just over three feet high, a disturbed eagle measuring nearly eight feet high and Betty Boop, which originally featured the iconic character in an ankle length dress. Link is just one of the many artists participating in the Ridgway Chainsaw Carvers Rendezvous starting Saturday and continuing through next weekend.
