Lady Crusaders fall to Maplewood in PIAA opening round

The Elk County Catholic Lady Crusaders saw their season come to an end with a 3-0 loss to the Maplewood Lady Tigers in the opening round of the PIAA Class A volleyball playoffs. A number of parents and fans also made the trek to Cochranton High School to cheer on the Lady Crusaders. Maplewood, the District 10 champion, won in straight sets, 25-20, 25-13, and 25-12.

Thomas Jefferson eliminates Lady Dutch volleyball

The Thomas Jefferson Jaguars ended the St. Marys Area Lady Dutch volleyball season Tuesday night in the first round of the PIAA Class AA Tournament.
The Jaguars defeated the Lady Dutch 3-0 (25-14, 25-14 and 25-7).

ECC volleyball finishes as D9-A runner up

The Elk County Catholic Lady Crusader volleyball team finished as the District 9 Class A runner up Saturday at the District 9-A championships held at St. Marys Area High School.
The Clarion Lady Bobcats won their fifth straight Class A championship Saturday by defeating Elk Catholic 3-0 (25-19, 25-17 and 25-11) in the finals.

Dutchmen hand Crusaders 37-0 defeat

The St. Marys Area Flying Dutchmen defeated the Elk County Catholic Crusaders by a 37-0 score Friday night at Dutch Country Stadium in the final regular season game for both teams.

It took five sets but the St. Marys Area Lady Dutch volleyball team captured the District 9 Class AA championship Thursday night as they defeated the Punxsutawney Lady Chucks by a 3-2 score.

ECC made it two sweeps in a row in the playoffs with a 3-0 (25-8, 25-14, 25-13) victory over Curwensville Thursday night in a District 9 Class A quarterfinal match held at Elk County Catholic High School.
