ECC track teams sweep SMA and DCC squads

The Elk County Catholic track and field teams swept the St. Marys Area and DuBois Central squads in a meet held Tuesday afternoon at the ECCHS track and field complex.
The Lady Crusaders defeated the Lady Dutch 113.33-36.67 and DuBois Central 137-12.
The Crusaders beat the Dutch 96-44 and the Cardinals 107-24.

Lady Beavers edge Lady Dutch 4-3 in 8 innings

The DuBois Area Lady Beaver softball team scored two runs in the top of the eighth then limited the St. Marys Area Lady Dutch to one run in the home half of the inning to record a 4-3 victory Tuesday afternoon at the SMAHS softball field.

Lady Dutch defeat Johnsonburg Ramettes 8-0 Monday

The St. Marys Area Lady Dutch softball team improved to 2-0 on the season as they defeated the Johnsonburg Ramettes 8-0 Monday afternoon at the SMAHS softball field. This was the season opener for the Ramettes.

he Elk County Catholic Lady Crusader softball team improved to 2-0 on their young season with a 15-0 three-inning shutout against the Bradford Lady Owls on Monday afternoon in a contest played on the newly renovated St. Marys Little League Softball field at Benzinger Park.

Crusader tennis blanks Johnsonburg 9-0

The Elk Catholic Crusader tennis team improved to 2-1 on their young season with a 9-0 victory over the Johnsonburg Rams in a match played at Memorial and Benzinger Parks on Monday afternoon.

ECC track and field teams split with Brookville squads

The Elk County Catholic track and field teams opened their home meet season by playing host to the Brookville squads Tuesday afternoon.
The Lady Crusaders defeated the Lady Raiders 117.5-28.5. The Raiders edged the Crusaders 76-74.

Crusader tennis team defeats Dutch squad

The St. Marys Area Flying Dutch tennis team opened their season Monday by taking on the Elk County Catholic Crusader squad. The match was played on the Memorial and Benzinger Park courts. The match was originally scheduled for St. Marys Area but was moved as the SMA courts are not ready.
Elk Catholic won the match by a 7-0 score. Halfway through the match there was a rain delay.

Lady Crusaders come from behind to open season with win

Not only was Monday opening day for Major League Baseball, locally it also finally ended up being opening day for the Elk County Catholic Lady Crusader softball team. The Lady Crusaders were originally scheduled to begin their 2015 campaign on Wednesday, March 25 against DCC, but the lingering winter weather resulted in that game only happening Monday. It ended up being worth the wait for Elk Catholic as the Lady Crusaders rallied for a 6-3 victory at Benzinger Park.
