 Milton A. (Joe) Leonard

Milton A. (Joe) Leonard, 101, of Apple Street, Weedville, died Monday, Feb. 6, 2012 at the Elk Regional Health Center in St. Marys. 
He was born Jan. 31, 1911 in LeContes Mills, Pa., the son of the late James O. and Fannie (Krise) Leonard.
On Nov. 17, 1935, he married Loletha (Kunes) Leonard. She preceded him in death July 6, 1997. 
He was a member of the Weedville United Methodist Church and the George E. Wagner Lodge. He worked on the Pennsylvania Railroad for many years, retiring in 1975. He then worked with his son Paul in the backhoe and fuel oil business for many years. In later years he has helped his son, Jim, at the Bennetts Valley News office with recycling glass and folding newspapers, a job he continued to do until Jan. 11 of this year.
 Joe is survived by three of his five children: Paul D. Leonard and his wife Minnie of Weedville, James A. Leonard and his wife Margie of Weedville, and Helen Maholtz of Penfield; 15 grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren; several great-great-grandchildren; and two brothers, Blair Leonard of Clearfield and Don Leonard of Barberton, Ohio.
Besides his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by two children, Lillian Leonard and Clyde (Skip) Leonard; one grandson, Donnie Leonard; a son-in-law, Mickey Maholtz; six sisters, Irene, Christine, Mame, Mary Jane, Lenora, and Stella; and four brothers, Alvin, Oliver, Thomas, and Robert Leonard.
A funeral service for Milton A. (Joe) Leonard will be held Friday, Feb. 10 at 11 a.m. in the Weedville United Methodist Church with Pastor Timothy Rogers officiating.
Burial will take place in Morningside Cemetery in DuBois.
Friends will be received at the Ralph M. Geer Funeral Home in Penfield on Thursday, Feb. 9 from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. and at the Weedville United Methodist Church on Friday, Feb. 10 from 10 to 11 a.m.
