 St. Marys Area swim teams sweep Central Mountain

ST. MARYS - The St. Marys Area swim teams hosted the Central Mountain squads last night at the SMAHS natatorium.
The Dutchmen came away with a 102-59 victory which improved their record to 6-1, while the Lady Dutch won 93-73 and are now 4-3 for the season.
The Dutchmen won 10 of 11 scored events. Multiple individual event winners included Jeffrey Moore in the 200 and 500 yard- freestyle, Ryan Struble in the 200-yard individual medley and 100-yard freestyle and Thomas Murmann in the 50-yard freestyle and 100-yard breaststroke. Corey Koss also took honors in the 100-yard backstroke, while Jake Burns won diving.
The 200-yard medley relay of Koss, Murmann, Struble and Alex Renwick took first, as did the 200-yard freestyle relay of Murmann, Struble, Matt Hoffman and Moore. The last event of the evening found the 400-yard freestyle relay of Renwick, Koss, Hoffman and Moore in the first-place position of the unscored event.
The Lady Dutch were led by Kylee Proudfit, who won the 200-yard individual medley as well as the 100-yard breaststroke. Other individual winners included Brittany Orr in the 200-yard freestyle, Emma Daghir in the 50-yard freestyle, Shannon Krieg in diving, Michaela Rupprecht in the 100-yard butterfly, Megan Barber in the100- yard freestyle and Cassie Wonderling in the 500-yard freestyle.
The 200-yard freestyle relay consisting of Daghir, Proudfit, Orr and Barber and the 400-yard freestyle relay of Maura Keyes, Kelsey Bonifay, Rupprecht and Barber also were victorious.
“We were not in full force tonight, despite winning the meet,” commented St. Marys coach Mark DeMuro.
“We need to get healthy as we go into our final week of the dual meet season, then onto championships and regionals, he added.”
The team will be back in action on Thursday against the Bradford Owls at the University of Pittsburgh Natatorium at 4 p.m.
