Adeline E. Lenze

Adeline E. Lenze, 89, of 155 Cross Road, St. Marys, died unexpectedly Thursday, August 18, 2011 at the DuBois Regional Medical Center.
She was born May 1, 1922, in St. Marys, daughter of the late William and Adeline Cannon Minnick. On November 8, 1941, in the Sacred Heart Church, she married Mark C. Lenze, who preceded her in death on June 11, 2010.
She was a lifelong resident of the area and was a graduate of Central High School and the Fort Worth Texas School of Photography. She was a co-owner of Lenze Commercial Studios and had been nationally recognized as a portrait artist and was in demand as a teacher and lecturer at seminars. Her paintings and photographs received national and international awards.
Mrs. Lenze was also involved with Amway and Herbal Life companies. She also was an ordained minister for restoration ministries and was a counselor to many people. She loved to sew, paint, read, and to spread God's word.
She is survived by five daughters, Kathryn "Kitty" Straub (Frank X.) of St. Marys, JoAnne Hoffman of Bronxville, N.Y., Irene Penfield (Joseph) of Surf Side, Ca.; Patricia Hoh (William) of Ridgway and Annette Ruprecht (Mark) of St. Marys; two sons, Mark D. Lenze (Sibby) of Johnsonburg and R. Lincoln Lenze (Debbie) of Hollywood, Pa.; 14 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; three sisters, Genevieve McBride of Waterloo, N.Y., Mary Smith of St. Marys, Rita Minnick of Twenty Nine Palms, Calif.; and by a brother, William A. Minnick (Arlene) of St. Marys.
Besides her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Christopher G. Lenze in 1975; and seven sisters, Viola Gribble, Julie Schreiber, Clara Glatt, Rose Stauffer, Anna Bobenreith, Gertrude Cheatle, and in infancy Helen Minnick.
Funeral services for Adeline E. Lenze will be held in the Shiloh Presbyterian Church on Monday, August 22 at 11 a.m., with the Rev. Scott Wiest and Pastor Richard Hoffman, her grandson, officiating. Burial will follow in the St. Mary's Cemetary.
Visitation is at the Lynch-Radkowski Funeral Home on Sunday from 5-8 pm.
