Agatha Theresa “Gram” Gerg

Agatha Theresa “Gram” Gerg, 87, died on Saturday, Nov. 26, 2011, at the Rainey Hospice House in Anderson, S.C.
Born June 30, 1924, in St. Marys, she was a daughter of the late George Herzing and Anna Schaberl Herzing. She was the beloved wife of the late Robert Leroy Gerg,
Mrs. Gerg was a homemaker and was happiest when surrounded by her loving family.
She is survived by her children, Sandra Ginther and her husband Tony of Anderson, S.C., Robert L. Gerg Jr. and his wife Joyce of Abbeville, S.C., Catherine Asalone and her husband Terrance of Anderson, S.C., Carol Fry and her husband Michael of Abbeville, S.C., Lorraine “Lorrie” McAninch and her husband G. Kim of Seneca, S.C., and Janice Settimio and her husband Randy of McMurray, Pa.; 19 grandchildren; and 23 great-grandchildren.
She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.
A funeral service for Agatha Theresa “Gram” Gerg will be held at 2 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 28, 2011, in the Chapel of The McDougald Funeral Home, Anderson, S.C., conducted by Father Aubrey McNeal, OFM. Entombment will follow in Forest Lawn Memorial Park Mausoleum.
The family is at the home, 209 Laurel Heights, and will receive friends at The McDougald Funeral Home from 7-9 p.m. on Sunday, as well as from 1-2 p.m. on Monday.
