Alan E. Prechtel

Alan E. Prechtel, 52, of 131 Linwood Ave., St. Marys, died unexpectedly on Tuesday, June 5, 2012 at Elk Regional Health Center.
He was born on June 4, 1960 in St. Marys, a son of the late Richard and Ruby Galmish Prechtel.
Alan was a lifelong resident of the area and a graduate of SMAHS. He was employed at Elcam for more than 30 years. He was a member of the Kersey Eagles. He greatly enjoyed racing and helping his nephew Tommy with his race car. He also enjoyed riding 4-wheelers and spending time with his family. 
He is survived by a sister, Donna, Mrs. Thomas Kronenwetter of St. Marys; two nephews, Aaron (Donna) Kronenwetter of Kersey, and Thomas Kronenwetter of St. Marys; three nieces, Alison (Rod) Kim of Pawhatan, Va.; Kristen (Steve) Austin of State College, and Lisann (Chris Arnold) Kronenwetter of Hoboken, N.J.
A Mass of Christian Burial for Alan E. Prechtel will be celebrated at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 325 Center St., St. Marys, on Friday, June 8, 2012 at 10 a.m., with the Rev. Eric Vogt, O.S.B., as celebrant. Burial will be in the St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery.
Visitation will be at the Lynch-Green Funeral Home, 151 N. Michael St., on Thursday evening from 6 to 8 p.m.
