Alan J. Kraus

Alan J. Kraus, 65, of 573 West Main Street Ext., Kersey, died at his residence on Thursday, Feb. 17, 2011, following a brief illness.
He was born April 24, 1945 in St. Marys, a son of the late Norman J. and Lillian Blanchard Kraus.
On May 11, 1974 in St. Marys, he married Harriet Hollobaugh Kraus, who survives.
He was a member of the Kersey Eagles. He enjoyed watching television, especially wrestling and sports. He also enjoyed Sodoku puzzles and spending time with his family.
In addition to his wife of 36 years, he is survived by two daughters, Tammie, Mrs. Frank Kuppelwiser of St. Marys, Kimberly, Mrs. Jude Fritz of St. Marys; a son, Richard "Rich" Kraus and his wife Chrissy of Florida; a step-daughter, Christine, Mrs. Steve Keech of Kersey; nine grandchildren; two sisters, Marlene Weber of St. Marys, Dale, Mrs. Joseph Floravit of St. Marys; two brothers, Norman "Jack" Kraus, Jr. of St. Marys, James Kraus of St. Marys, and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by 2 brothers, Earl and Kenneth Kraus.
A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial for Alan Kraus is being scheduled and will be announced at a later date. Burial will be in the Mountain Cemetery in Brockport.
There will be no visitation.
