Albert Louis Covac, 93, of 116 Poplar Rd., St. Marys, died Saturday, Feb. 12, 2011 at the Elk Haven Nursing Home after an illness of the past several months.
He was born Jan. 4, 1918, in Falls Creek, son of the late Joseph and Frances (Mary) Marn Covac.
On Aug. 10, 1940, in the Holy Rosary Church in Johnsonburg, he married Irene G. Mackcoviak, who survives.
He was a lifelong resident of the area and attended St. Marys parochial schools. He was also a member of the Queen of the World Church.
He retired from the Stackpole Corp. as a Journeyman Pipe Fitter, retiring in 1980 after 48 years of service.
He is also survived by three daughters, Janice Haller and her husband William of Kersey, Judith Rippy and her husband Dennis of Murray, Utah, and Joan Cox and her husband Bruce of South Lake Tahoe, Calif.; two sons, Joseph Covac and his wife Judy of St. Marys, and Jeff Covac and his wife Mary Jo of St. Marys; 14 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and two step-great-grandchildren.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Rose Pierce and Pauline Fotta; and by a brother, Joseph Covac. He was the last member of his immediate family.
Family and friends of Albert Louis Covac are invited to attend a Funeral Mass to be celebrated in the Queen of the World Church on Saturday at 10 a.m. with the Rev. Michael Ferrick, pastor, officiating. Burial will follow in the St. Mary's Cemetery.
There will be no visitation.
