Alberta J. Manfroni, 84, of 446 Toby Rd., Kersey, died Wednesday, Jan. 16, 2013 at her residence.
She was born July 18, 1928 in Knox Twp., Jefferson County, the daughter of Patrick J. and Dorothy Wonderling McGranor.
On Aug. 9, 1947 in St. Tobias Church in Brockway she married Peter Manfroni. He preceded her in death on Aug. 30, 2004.
She was a member at St. Boniface in Kersey.
She was a 1946 graduate of Reynoldsville High School. She had lived for many years in Falls Creek before moving to Kersey in 1968. She enjoyed cooking, baking and organizing family gatherings.
She had been employed at Brockway Glass as a packer for 27 years and was a member of St. Boniface Church in Kersey.
She is survived by three daughters, Kathryn (Donald) McGonigal of Kersey, Darlene (James) Dorio of Ridgway, and Carol (Ronald) Chamberlin of Kersey; four sons, Arthur (Mary Ann) Monfroni of Brookville, Joseph (Shawn) Manfroni of Kersey, Michael (Irene) Manfroni of Kersey, and Randy Manfroni of Kersey; two brothers, Richard and Clifford McGranor; and a sister, Maxine Brezenski. She is also survived by 11 grandchildren, Eric McGonigal and Gregory McGonigal, both of Pittsburgh, Peter Dorio of Mentor, Ohio, Deanna Thorwart of St. Marys, Brenda Werneth of St. Marys, Douglas Dorio of Sharon, Michelle Peltier of Glen Burnie, Md., Mark Manfroni and Molly Manfroni, both of Brookville, and Kadie Chamberlin and Jonathan Chamberlin, both of Kersey; 10 great-grandchildren; and her dog, Holly.
Besides her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by four brothers, Ray, Alfred, Donald, and Thomas McGranor; and a great-grandson, Gary Richard Werneth.
A Mass of Christian Burial for Alberta J. Manfroni will be held on Monday, Jan. 21 at 10 a.m. at St. Boniface Church in Kersey. Officiating will be Fr. Jim Faluszczak. Burial will follow in Parklawn Memorial Gardens in Ridgway.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, Jan. 20 at the Carlson-Shugarts Funeral Home Inc. in Brockway from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. A vigil service will be held on Sunday afternoon at 1:45 p.m. at the funeral home.
