Alice M. Johnson

Alice M. Johnson, 83, of 300 Russ Lane, St. Marys, died Sunday, Sept. 23, 2012 at her residence after a lengthy illness.
She was born Aug. 31, 1929, in St. Marys, daughter of the late Lawrence and Rose Fritz Lechner.
She was a lifelong resident of the area and was a graduate of Central Catholic High School.
On Feb. 18, 1950, in the St. Mary's Church, she married Clifford W. "Skip" Johnson, who survives.
Alice was a member of the St. Mary's Church. She was a housewife who took pride in keeping an impeccable home for her family.
She enjoyed spending time with her family, especially being with her grandchildren. She was an avid bingo player, which fostered many new friendships in the community, and she particularly enjoyed spending time at the family camp in Glen Hazel and sharing stories around the campfire.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by three sons, Larry L. Johnson and his wife Marion of Kersey, Thomas A. Johnson of St. Marys, and Wayne P. Johnson and his wife Cindy of Kersey; a sister, Marie Pistner of St. Marys; six grandchildren, Eric Johnson of Batavia, N.Y., Ann Johnson of Pittsburgh, Brian Johnson of St. Marys, Amy Johnson of Wilkes-Barre, and Aaron Johnson and Kelly Johnson of Kersey.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Helen Lechner; and by four brothers, Leonard, Francis, Leo, and Lawrence Lechner Jr.
Family and friends of Alice M. Johnson are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated in the St. Mary's Church on Wednesday, Sept. 26 at 10 a.m., with the Rev. Meinrad Lawson, OSB, pastor, as celebrant.
Interment will follow in the St. Mary's Cemetery.
There will be no visitation.
