Alma D. Slate

Alma D. Slate, 78, of Loveland Colo., died Saturday, Dec. 15, 2012 at her residence after a short illness. She was born Oct. 29, 1934 in St. Marys, PA, daughter of the late Dort and Ottie Urbancic. On Sept. 19, 1959, in Denver, Colo., Alma married Clarence E. Slate, who preceded her in death on May 24, 2009.
After graduating from high school, Alma entered the United States Navy. She served five years, with her last position bringing her to Denver, Colo.
Alma was devoted to her family and friends and was a member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church.
Alma is survived by her sister, Susan Driggs; sons Mark, David and Steven; daughters Sandy, Jennifer and Julie; eight grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and many friends.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her brother, Misty (Otto) Urbancic in 2006.
Family and friends of Alma D. Slate are invited to attend a memorial service at Viegut Funeral Home today, Thursday, Dec. 20, 2012 at 6 p.m. Viewing will be held on Wednesday from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
At Alma’s request, cremation will be completed. Private inurnment will be held at Foothills Gardens of Memory in Longmont.
