Ambulance service memberships still available

May 8, 2012

Daily Press file photo - Membership in the St. Marys Area Ambulance Service runs from April to April; area residents can still take advantage of membership benefits by joining now.

The St. Marys Area Ambulance Service carried out its main membership drive last month, but it is not too late to join this month and take advantage of the benefits offered.
According to Manager Robert "Bert" Sorg, the ambulance service provides both emergency and non-emergency health care and transportation services to area residents. Full ambulance services are provided to St. Marys and paramedic services are provided to Fox Township, Johnsonburg and Bennetts Valley.
Sorg explained that an ambulance will always be dispatched if someone needs medical attention, regardless of whether or not they are a subscriber. The benefits of being a subscriber, however, can lower the cost of ambulance transport for the patient.
