Amelia E. "Melie" Wehler

Amelia E. "Melie" Wehler, 87, of 1045 LeMans Rd., St. Marys, died on Friday, Aug. 31, 2012 at Elk Regional Health Center in St. Marys following a brief illness.
She was born Sept. 23, 1924 in St. Marys, a daughter of the late Joseph and Amelia Werneth Wehler.
She was a lifelong resident of the area and attended St. Marys schools. She retired from Stackpole Carbon Company after many years of service. She enjoyed her home, gardening, and her pets. She mostly liked spending time with her family, especially her great nieces and nephews. She always enjoyed art and music and at one time enjoyed fixing dolls. She was the last member of her immediate family. 
She is survived by a sister-in-law, Miriam Wehler of St. Marys; and numerous nieces and nephews, including several who helped care for her: nieces Marilyn, Mrs. Kenny Eckert of St. Marys, Janet, Mrs. Mac Reed of St. Marys, Betsy, Mrs. Joseph Azzato of Russell, Sr. Marian Wehler, OSB, of Erie, and Kathy, Mrs. John Bloom of Winchester, Va.; and nephews, Denny Wehler and his wife Mary Lou of St. Marys, Ed Wehler and his wife Sharon of St. Marys, and Steve Wehler and his wife Molly of St. Marys. She is also survived by numerous great nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by five brothers, Jost, Urban, LeRoy, Frederick and William Wehler; five sisters, Mary Feiley, Laura Weber, Rita Knath, Mercedes Feldbauer, and Bertha Schneider; and two sisters in early childhood, Martha and Leona.
A Mass of Christian Burial for Amelia E. "Melie" Wehler will be celebrated at the Queen Of The World Church, 134 Queens Rd., St. Marys, on Wednesday, Sept. 5, 2012 at 12 p.m., with the Rev. Michael Ferrick, pastor, as celebrant.
Burial will be in the St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery.
Visitation will be at the Lynch-Green Funeral Home, 151 N. Michael St., St. Marys, tonight from 5-8 p.m.
