American Legion donates to Food Bank

The American Legion in St. Marys recently donated $2,000 dollars to the Christian Food Bank in St. Marys. This is the third donation to the food bank from the American Legion this year.
"It's a very nice check," said Food Bank President Billie Diehl."We're very grateful for it."
Packing up and shipping out every Thursday, the food bank provides sustenance for almost 150 families every week. In a recent effort to contribute to the food bank's resources, postal workers collected 7,445 pounds of food from the citizens in the surrounding area as part of the U.S. Postal Service's "Stamp Out Hunger" food drive.
Since its founding in 1983, the food bank has been helping those in need. With the assistance of area residents and organizations, such as the American Legion, it is able to continue its efforts to keep local communities' families in need fed.
