Arnold L. “Arnie” Trayer

Arnold L. “Arnie” Trayer, 59, of Caledonia Rd., Weedville, died Tuesday, Jan. 10, 2012 at DRMC West after a two-year battle with cancer.
He was born July 3, 1952 in Punxsutawney, the son of the late M. LeRoy and Gertrude (Fetterman) Trayer.
On June 3, 1972, he married Betty J. Nunamaker Trayer, who survives.
He lived all his life in Bennetts Valley. He graduated from St. Marys Area High School, Class of 1970. He worked 40 years at the same manufacturing plant in St. Marys, which carried many names, including Airco Speer, Airco Carbon, and CG Graphite.
He was Methodist by faith and was an avid hunter, fisherman, photographer, outdoorsman and NASCAR (Earnhardt) fan. He enjoyed his time cutting wood with his father and especially his time with his family, children and grandchildren. 
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his stepmother, Della Mae (Zimmerman) Trayer of Brookville; four children, Michael L. (Candy) Trayer of Kersey, Laura Lee Trayer and her fiancé Scott A. Watson of St. Marys, Erich M. Trayer of St. Marys and Tarah L. Trayer of St. Marys, three grandchildren, Austin M. Trayer, Ryan C. Trayer and Hailey L. Watson; three sisters, Winifred Trayer and her partner James Anderson of St. Marys, Donna (James) Winslow of Caledonia, and Betty (Kevin) Straub of Byrnedale; two brothers, Robert (Dorothea) Trayer of Benezette and Gary (Toi) Trayer of Thailand; and three stepbrothers, Richard (Marylyn) Zimmerman of Knox, Terry Zimmerman of Dover, Del.,
and Tim (Tina) Zimmerman of Reynoldsville.
Funeral services for Arnold L. “Arnie” Trayer will be held at 11 a.m., Friday, Jan. 13, 2012 at the Ralph M. Geer Funeral Home, Penfield, with Pastors Timothy Rogers and Mark Meyers officiating.
Visitation will be held Thursday, Jan. 12, 2012 from 2–4 and 7–9 p.m., and Friday, Jan. 13, 2012 from 9–11 a.m. at the funeral home.          
The family suggests memorials to the American Heart Assoc., American Lung Assoc. or a favorite charity.
