Arthur N. Hillebrand, 82, of 1046 E. Eschbach Road, St. Marys, died on Saturday, June 4, 2011 at Hamot Medical Center in Erie following a short illness.
He was born December 6, 1928 in Ambridge, a son of the late Joseph and Ida Hillebrand.
On October 28, 1950, in St. Mary's Church, he married the late Lillian "Mickie" Samick Hillebrand, who preceded him in death on December 5, 1995.
Art was a member of Queen of the World Church.Â He was also a member of the Campowner's Association and the American Powdered Metallurgy Institute (APMI) International.Â He served as chairman of the Western Pennsylvania APMI chapter from 1976 until 1977. Mr. Hillebrand began his career in powdered metallurgy at the age of 16.Â After multiple achievements and promotions, he co-founded Eastern Sintered Alloys in 1979.Â He was an avid ï¬y ï¬sherman and spent many hours at camp passing his skills onto his children and grandchildren.
He is survived by two daughters, Jane Heverley of DuBois and Chris Hillebrand of State College; two sons, Jim Hillebrand of St. Marys and Joe Hillebrand and his wife Mary Jo of St. Marys; eight grandchildren; oneÂ great-grandchild and one great-grandchild due in August; a brother, Fred Hillebrand and his wife Audrey of St. Marys; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by a son, John Hillebrand; three brothers, Albert, Bill, and Carl Hillebrand; a sister, Bertha DeJulio; and two siblings in infancy.
A Mass of Christian Burial for Arthur N. Hillebrand will be celebrated at the Queen Of The World Church, 134 Queens Rd., St. Marys, on Thursday, June 9 at 10 a.m. with the
Rev. Michael Ferrick, pastor, as celebrant. Burial will be in the St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery.
Visitation will be at the Lynch-Green Funeral Home on Wednesday evening from 5 to 8 p.m.
