Authority looks to purchase yard ramp

The Elk County Solid Waste Authority is in the market for a yard ramp for use at their Community Recycling Center, located at the Stackpole Complex in St. Marys. The purchase of a ramp for under a cost of $10,000 was recently approved by the authority at their most recent meeting. According to Recycling/Solid Waste Coordinator Bekki Titchner, a yard ramp is necessary because there is no room to install a loading dock at the recycling facility. "There's no way we can put a loading dock where we are. Even the building that we're storing in, there's no place to even build a loading dock," Titchner said. The authority originally looked into purchasing a used yard ramp; however, after comparing prices, Enforcement Officer Dave Stubber indicated that it would be more cost-effective for them to purchase a new one.
