Barbara Jean Bruni, 76, of 112 Meadow Lane, Kersey, died Friday, July 29, 2011, at her home after a brief illness.
She was born Sept. 27, 1934, in St. Marys, daughter of the late Floyd and Barbara Reuscher Hanes.
On July 16, 1955, she married Ronald L. Bruni, who survives.
She was a lifelong resident of the area and was a graduate of Central Catholic High School, Class of 1952. She enjoyed her family and grandchildren and enjoyed playing cards and bingo.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by a daughter, Cheryl McAlee and her husband Douglas of Kersey; a son, John J. Bruni of Treasure Lake; three grandchildren, Christian McAlee, Austin McAlee and Jillian Bruni; three sisters, Ruth Graham of Cypress, Calif., Mary Fritz and her husband Wayne of Sun City, Calif., and Vivian Leehan and her husband William of Edinboro; and a brother, Paul Hanes and his wife Virginia of Waconia, Minn.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by five sisters, Rosemary Gerber, Helen Cashmer, Rita Wendel, and in infancy Teresa and Kathryn Hanes; and by four brothers, Leo, Cletus, Carl and Floyd Hanes Jr.
A private family memorial service for Barbara Jean Bruni will be held on Monday in the Lynch-Radkowski Funeral Home at 11 a.m.
Burial will be in the St. Mary's Cemetery.
There will be no visitation.
