Betty M. Wonderly, 75, of 938 Troup Valley Hill Rd., Mount Pleasant Mills, and formerly of Kersey, died suddenly on Tuesday, January 3, 2012 at Elk Regional Health Center.
She was born Feb. 17, 1936 in Kersey, a daughter of the late Irwin Sylvester and Madeline Minnick Wonderly.
Betty spent many years caring for and kenneling dogs, and had a great love for her dog, Dee Dee.Â She enjoyed spending time with her family and especially enjoyed coming home to spend Christmas with them ever year.Â She also enjoyed shopping and crafts.
She is survived by her best friends and caregivers, Red Roush and his wife Peg of Mount Pleasant Mills; five sisters, Evelyn Claypool of St. Marys,
Mary Bennett of St. Marys, Nellie McClintick of Weedville, Loretta, Mrs. Gary McClintick of Weedville, and Virginia Carpin of St. Marys; three brothers, Irvin Wonderly and his wife Ruby of Kersey, Robert Wonderly and his wife Rose of Kersey, and James Wonderly and his wife Cathy of Weedville; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Joseph Wonderly; and a sister, Margaret Woodring.
A funeral service for Betty M. Wonderly will be held at the Lynch-Green Funeral Home, 151 North Michael St., St. Marys, on Saturday, Jan. 7, 2012 at 1 p.m., with the Rev. Michael Ferrick, pastor of Queen of the World Church, ofï¬ciating.Â
Burial will follow in Parklawn Memorial Gardens in Ridgway.
Visitation will be at the Lynch-Green Funeral Home on Saturday from noon until the time of the service.
