Big Spring 10K to benefit area residents

October 21, 2013

The fourth annual Big Spring 10K walk/run will be held on Saturday, Oct. 26 at 11 a.m. at the Toby ball field, with the funds raised through this year's event benefitting a pair of area residents: Ray Gornati, a recent heart transplant patient from St. Marys, and Tommy Gilmore, a 7-year-old from Ridgway who is battling cancer.
Race organizers Rob Singer and Chuck Beyer explained that the race benefits different individuals each year, and the idea behind the event came about because there are always people who need help.
