Blanche R. Whiteman

Blanche R. Whiteman, 82, of Phoenix, Ariz., and a former St. Marys resident, died Wednesday, Nov. 2, 2011 at the Coronado Health Center in Phoenix, Ariz., after a lengthy illness.
She was born May 4, 1929, in St. Marys, daughter of the late Lawrence and Anna Fuller Eckert. On July 16, 1949, in the St. Mary's Church, she married Richard Whiteman, who preceded her in death on Feb. 8, 1989.
She attended St. Marys schools and was a former employee of Sylvania in Emporium.
She is survived by a daughter, Gloria Wehler of St. Marys; a son, Donald Whiteman of Bullhead City, Ariz.; 10 grandchildren, Lorrie Pearsall (Gary), Vicki Cunningham (Daniel), April Zwald (Mike), Ray Whiteman, Jason Wehler, Michelle Wehler, Shawn Whiteman, Dustin Wehler and Joshua Wehler; and 12 great-grandchildren.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by two sons, Richard Whiteman Jr. and Michael Whiteman; three sisters, Ida Rollick, Clara Buttery, and Delores Zuraski; and two brothers, Albert Eckert and Thomas Eckert.
She was the last member of her immediate family.
Family and friends of Blanche R. Whiteman are invited to attend a Memorial Mass to be celebrated in the Sacred Heart Church on Friday, Nov. 18, 2011 at 10 a.m., with the Rev. Eric Vogt, OSB, as celebrant. Burial will be in the St. Mary's Cemetery.
The Lynch-Radkowski Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
There will be no visitation.
