Car sales worst since 19'74
Monday, 05 January 2009
U.S. automakers posted the biggest annual sales drop in more than three decades as fear of unemployment kept Americans away from car lots. On Wall Street, the Dow dropped 81 points to 8,952. The S&P 500 lost 4 points to 927. The Nasdaq gave up 4 points to 1,628. Conway Gittens reports from New York.
