Photo Contest Rules

The Nicholas J. Sinibaldi Symphonic Band presented "An Evening of Music" on Saturday evening in the St. Marys Area High School Carpin Auditorium. The concert, which was conducted by Harris Lanzel, featured a variety of musical selections, concluding with the playing of "Stars and Stripes Forever".
According to the program for the concert, Anna Lee Himes, Sinibaldi's only sibling, attended many of the previous NJS Symphonic Band concerts and had suggested that audience members wave American flags as the band performed its encore. Himes died on Oct. 24, 2009 and, as a tribute to her and Sinibaldi, her children donated flags for attendees to wave during Saturday's performance.
The concert was free to the public, though donations were collected to benefit the Nicholas J. Sinibaldi Music Scholarship. While an exact total is unavailable, Betty Sobierajski, one of Sinibaldi's daughters, remarked that audience members were very generous with their scholarship donations.
Sobierajski added that the family was very pleased with the turnout for the concert, which consisted of over a hundred area residents.
