Bonita R. Zelt

Bonita R. Zelt, 91, of 361 Kaul Avenue, St. Marys, died Monday, April 8, 2013, at her home.
She was born August 23, 1921 in Ramseytown, daughter of the late James W. and Dora DeSmith Fleming. On October 12, 1961 in the Queen of the World Church, she married Joseph O. Zelt, who preceded her in death on November 13, 1998.
Mrs. Zelt had resided in St. Marys since 1932. She was a graduate of Central Catholic High School, Class of 1939, and was also a graduate of Penn State DuBois, Class of 1977. She was a member of the Sacred Heart Church. She volunteered at the Christian Food Bank, was a former AARP Tax Coordinator, and was a member of the Friends of the Library.
She is survived by her close friend and caretaker, Susan Aloi of St. Marys; and her cousins, Georgia Rezsutek of St. Marys, Donald Fleming of St. Marys, and Patricia Fleming of St. Marys.
Besides her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Gerarde Fleming Gschwendtner and Virginia Fleming, who died in childhood; and a brother, James W. Fleming, Jr. She was the last member of her immediate family.
Family and friends of Bonita R. Zelt are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated in the Sacred Heart Church on Monday, April 15, 2013, at 10:00 AM with the Rev. Eric Vogt, OSB, Pastor, officiating.
Burial will be in the St. Mary’s Cemetery.
There will be no visitation.
