Calvin M. Parks

Calvin M. Parks, 72, of 128 Grandview Rd., St. Marys, died Wednesday, Jan. 16, 2013, at the Elk Regional Health Center following a lengthy illness.
He was born October 1, 1940 in Johnsonburg, son of the late Lawrence and Vivian Klase Parks.
He was a lifelong resident of the area and attended Johnsonburg Area Schools. He was a retired employee of the St. Marys Carbon Company, working from August 1965 till January 1997.
Mr. Parks was a member of the Queen of the World Church and the Elk County Cursillo Movement. He was a loving father and grandfather and was loved and respected by many. He will be missed dearly by his family and friends.
He is survived by a son, Kirk A. (Tina Wonderly) Parks of St. Marys; two grandsons, Shaun Parks and Nathan Parks, both of St. Marys; a sister, Jeannine Parks Schreiber of St. Marys; and nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Audrey Parks Miller and Ruth Parks Lewis; and four brothers, Bruce L. Parks, Richard J. Parks, Harold D. Parks and Lawrence “Bud” Parks.
Family and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial for Calvin M. Parks to be celebrated in the Queen of the World Church on Saturday, Jan. 26, 2013 at 10 a.m. with the Rev. Michael Ferrick, Pastor, officiating.
There will be no visitation. Burial will be in the Wardvale Cemetery in Johnsonburg.
