Cameron County rallies to beat Dutch wrestlers 43-30

The Cameron County Red Raider wrestling team rallied to defeat the St. Marys Area Flying Dutchmen by a 43-30 score last night at the SMAHS Dutch Oven.
St. Marys was able to build a 30-6 lead through 152 pounds but were unable to score in the final seven weight classes.
“We didn’t put a point on the board from 152 on and I think our inexperience really showed tonight,” said St. Marys coach Dominic Surra.
“We’re a little banged up and moved some kids around tonight and it showed,” said Surra.
“Hats off to Cameron County, they wrestled tonight. We just didn’t do it,” added coach Surra.
The match started at 113 pounds where Cameron County’s Paul Etchepare decisioned Willie McGonnell 3-0. Dutchman Evan Smith won by forfeit at 120 pounds giving St. Marys the 6-3 lead.
At 126 pounds, Zach Cokely of the Raiders decisioned Dylan Smith 7-5 to knot the match at 6-all. Alex Coudriet of the Dutch won by forfeit at 132 pounds to give St. Marys the 12-6 lead.
Dutchman Tyler Yetzer pinned Dom Galluzzi at the 4:34 mark of their 138 pound match giving the Dutch the 18-6 lead. Dutchman Sam Miller pinned Erin Garrigan at the 51 second mark of their 145 pound match giving St. Marys the 24-6 lead.
Bill Gabor of the Dutch pinned Rusty Sensor at the 3:04 mark of their 160 pound match to give St. Marys the 30-6 lead.
At 160 pounds, Cameron County’s Taylor Saline recorded a 16-8 major decision over Alex Feldbauer. At 170 pounds, Nick Stuckey of the Raiders pinned Josh Cameroni at the 3:26 mark of their match to cut the Dutch lead to 30-16.
At 182 pounds Devin Mason of the Raiders pinned Derek Taylor at the 4:54 mark. Aaron Burnside of the Raiders decisioned Joe McLaughlin by an 8-4 score at 195 pounds.
Josh Reynolds of the Raiders pinned Mike Wolfel at the 2:31 mark of their 220 pound match to give the Raiders the 31-30 lead. At 285 pounds, Jack Karsten of the Raiders pinned Gary Fledderman, 37-30. In the final bout of the night, Brandon Saline of Cameron County pinned Ray Dent at the 1:04 mark of their 106 pound match giving the Raiders the 43-30 victory.
The Dutch, now 0-1 on the season, will be participating in the Sheetz Holiday Classic at Penn Cambria tonight and Saturday.

170 - Nick Stuckey - CC pinned Josh Cameroni, 3:26.
182 - Devin Mason - CC pinned Derek Taylor, 5:54.
195 - Aaron Burnside - CC decisioned Joe McLaughlin, 8-4.
220 - Josh Reynolds - CC pinned Mike Wolfel, 2:31.
