Carmela Ann "Melly" Napolitan

Carmela Ann "Melly"  Napolitan, 83, of Bradford, died Tuesday, June 11, 2013 at the Bradford Regional Medical Center Pavilion in Bradford.
Born May 25, 1930, in Hazel Hurst,  she was a daughter of the late Michael and Antoinette Santaniello Napolitan.
Ms. Napolitan was a graduate of Mansfield University and began her teaching career in Savona, N.Y., in 1952. Later she served as an elementary teacher for 42 in the Bradford Area School District, retiring in 1995. She was a member of the Retired Teachers' Association and the St. Joseph's Rosary Society.
Her legacy is the thousands of students, family and friends for whom she so deeply cared. She will be fondly remembered for her warm smile and generous heart.
Surviving are two sisters, Rose Cronk of Portsmouth, N.H., and Margaret (Joseph) Segulin of Mt. Jewett; a brother, Michael (June) Napolitan of Clarendon; three nieces, Rosemarie House, Carole Jean Frawley and Michele Napolitan; and five nephews, John Cronk, Stephen Ostroski, Michael Ostroski, Michael Napolitan and Mark Napolitan.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Theresa Ostroski and a niece, Tina Cronk.
A Mass of Christian Burial for Carmela Ann "Melly"  Napolitan will be celebrated 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Division Street, Mt. Jewett, with the Rev. Vincent Cieslewicz, pastor, officiating.  Burial will be at Holy Rosary Cemetery in Johnsonburg.
Friends will be received from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. Friday at the Cummings Funeral Home, Inc., 10 E. Main St.,  Mt. Jewett.
Memorial donations may be made to a charity of choice.
