Caroline M. McClain

Caroline M. McClain, 89, of 229 Grandview Rd., St. Marys, died Tuesday, Feb. 28, 2012 at the Pinecrest Manor after a brief illness. She was born Sept. 14, 1922, in St. Marys, daughter of the late Bernard and Caroline Erich Wright.
On Jan. 13, 1940, in the Sacred Heart Church, she married Jay P. McClain, who preceded her in death on Nov. 25, 1994.
Mrs. McClain was a lifelong resident of the area and attended Sacred Heart School. She was a member of Queen of the World Church and enjoyed life, her family, and especially her grandchildren.
She is survived by a daughter, Diane Haupright (Douglas) of Johnsonburg; a son, J. Dennis McClain of St. Marys; 17 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by three sisters, Thelma Weis, Charlotte Valentine, and Eleanor Aker; and by five brothers, Alvin, Clarence, Jerome, Eugene and Richard Wright.
A Mass of Christian Burial for Caroline M. McClain will be celebrated in the Queen of the World Church on Friday, March 2, 2012 at 1:30 p.m., with the Rev. Michael Ferrick, pastor, officiating. Burial will follow in the St. Mary's Cemetery.
Visitation is at the Lynch-Radkowski Funeral Home on Thursday, March 1, 2012 from 6 to 8 p.m.
