Carvers working diligently on auction pieces

In preparation for the annual Ridgway Chainsaw Carvers Rendezvous auction taking place beginning at noon on Saturday, carvers were working steadily on Thursday afternoon to complete their wooden works of art. Pieces must be completed by noon today.
Debbie Tremko of Arlington, Wash., created a large welcome sign being held by three dogs, a black, chocolate and yellow Lab. She entitled her piece "Saw Dogs." In addition, Tremko created a black dog sculpture with a welcome sign hanging from its neck which she plans to gift to a local Ridgway bar.
Jerry Heneger of Maple Falls, Wash., was putting the finishing touches on his wildlife log, which features a a predatory eagle perched on top and dangling a fish from its claws, along with two raccoons below it.
