As part of its 23rd annual Women's Recognition Dinner, the St. Marys Area Chamber of Commerce's dinner organizing committee has chosen to go green with an environmental theme, "Flowers Feed the Soul."
The dinner is set for Wednesday, April 27 at the Diamond View Restaurant, starting with a cash bar at 5:30 p.m. followed by a dinner at 6:30 p.m. Tickets are $20 and are available by contacting the Chamber office at 781-3804. The deadline to purchase tickets is Thursday, April 21.
"The dinner is open to all women, from stay-at-home moms to retired ladies to businesswomen and every woman in between," emphasized Paula Weyant, the Chamber's events coordinator. "It is meant to recognize the contribution of women in all walks of life."
This year's dinner will feature guest speaker Mary Ann Valentine, owner of The Valley Rainbow Greenhouse in Weedville, who will speak about various gardening tips. Each attendee will receive a complimentary viola provided by Valentine as well as a small container, a bag of soil and a keepsake gardening booklet as part of a make-and-take project.
Door prizes will also be available.
