Christine H. Brem

Christine H. Brem, 89, a resident of the DuBois Nursing Home in DuBois and formerly of the Elk Towers and Grandview Road, St. Marys, died Sunday, Sept. 16, 2012 at the DuBois Nursing Home after a lengthy illness.
She was born Dec. 20, 1922, in Daguschonda, daughter of the late John and Frances Knouse Meholic. On May 29, 1947, in the Sacred Heart Church, she married George J. "Jingles" Brem, who he preceded her in death on Feb. 22, 1995.
She was a lifelong resident of the area and attended area schools. She was a former employee of the Stackpole Carbon Co. and a member of the Queen of the World Church.
She is survived by a daughter, Joan (Thomas) Hockman of DuBois; a son, William J. (Patricia) Brem of Tampa, Fla.; four granddaughters, Jennifer West, Rachel Chiesa, Kathryn Eisensmith, and Erin McMahon; two great-grandchildren, Alan Eisensmith and Owen Eisensmith; and by a brother, Robert "Red" Meholic of St. Marys.
Besides her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a sister, Rosemary O'Dell; and a brother, John Meholic.
A Mass of Christian Burial for Christine H. Brem will be celebrated in the Queen of the World Church on Wednesday, Sept. 19 at noon, with the Rev. Eric Vogt, OSB, as celebrant.
Burial will be in the St. Mary's Cemetery.
Visitation is at the Lynch-Radkowski Funeral Home on Wednesday morning from 10-11:30 a.m.
