City sets uniform parking rates

June 16, 2014

Council unanimously approved an ordinance establishing the procedure to set parking meter rates which allows them to be adjusted from time to time by council resolution.
A resolution was then approved to establish a uniform rate for parking meters within the city at a rate of 25 cents per hour. Councilmen Greg Gebauer and Lou Radkowski opposed the resolution.
This follows a controversy at the last meeting as to how many meters would have to be changed to allow for the correct currency.
