Clarence W. “Bill” Schloder Jr., 68, of Pine View, DuBois, died Monday, March 3, 2014 at Penn Highlands DuBois.
Born Sept. 28, 1945 in St. Marys, he was the son of the late Clarence W. Schloder Sr. and Lydia (McGonigal) Schloder.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, having served in the Vietnam War where he received both the Vietnam Service and Campaign Medal.
On July 9, 1992, he married Debora E. (Gresak) Schloder, who survives.
Bill retired as a residential program worker for Oak Manor in St. Marys after over 20 years of service. Prior to that, he had worked at Maple Manor Drug and Alcohol Treatment Facility.
He was a member of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Roman Catholic Church in Sykesville. He loved to work in his garden and rebuild computers.
He is survived by three children, Melissa Powell and her husband Ivan of Hazen, Theresa Hall and her husband Rock of St. Marys, and William Schloder of St. Marys; two brothers, John Schloder and his wife Rose, and Timothy Schloder, all of St. Marys; a sister, Judy Blessel, of St. Marys; and five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Theodore Schloder; and his stepmother, Theresa Schloder.
A Mass of Christian Burial for Clarence W. “Bill” Schloder Jr. will be celebrated on Friday, March 7, 2014 at 11 a.m. at the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Roman Catholic Church with Fr. Rick Tomasone as celebrant.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, March 6, 2014 from 4-8 p.m. at the Goble Baronick Funeral Home.
A Scriptural Wake Service will be held on Thursday afternoon at 3:30 p.m. at the funeral home.
Full military honors will be accorded by the members of the DuBois Area Honor Guard at the church.
