A large crowd of parents were on hand at Monday's St. Marys Area School District Board of Directors meeting to voice their concern about the large class size of Fox Township Elementary School's first grade.
Citing student safety and quality of education, several mothers expressed discontent the district has not split the 30-member class into two separate classrooms.
"If enrollment stays the same there is a very good likelihood we will be hiring a second first grade teacher," Board President Bob Luchini said following the meeting.
