Clifford W. Clark, 99, of Guy & Mary Felt Manor, Emporium, and formerly of 961 Rich Valley Rd., Emporium, died at Guy & Mary Felt Manor on Thursday afternoon, February 21, 2013.
He was born Aug. 25, 1913 in Emporium, a son of the late Walter and Hulda Walleen Clark.
On June 30, 1934 in Austin, he married Bernice Owens Clark, who survives.
Mr. Clark was a lifelong resident of Cameron County. He and his wife Bernice had celebrated their 78th wedding anniversary this past June. He graduated from Emporium High School, Class of 1932. He retired from Sylvania, where he had worked for many years. Years ago he also worked at the former Whitman Ford dealership in Emporium.
Clliff was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, where he served as a Deacon and Ruling Elder. He was a past member of the American Society of Tool Manufacturing Engineers. He was a life member of the Bucktail Rod and Gun Club and an outdoor enthusiast. He enjoyed woodworking, clock making, working and spending time at his camp.
In addition to his wife, Bernice Owens Clark, he is survived by a son, Gary L. Clark and his wife Barbara of Emporium; a granddaughter, Christine, Mrs. Brian Slusarick of Emporium; a grandson, Clifford M. Clark and his wife Eugenia of Emporium; and three great-grandchildren, Molly and Chloe Slusarick, and Clara Clark.
Besides his parents, Walter and Hulda Walleen Clark, he was preceded in death by four sisters, Cecil Lincoln, Phyllis Sassenroth, Zita Schilling, and Freddie Meisel; and a brother, Walter Clark.
A funeral service for Clifford W. Clark will be held at the First Presbyterian Church, 205 East Fourth St., Emporium, on Wednesday, Feb. 27 at 10:30 a.m., with the Rev. Philip W. Sanders, pastor, officiating.
Burial will be in the Newton Cemetery, Emporium.
Visitation will be at the Barnett Funeral Home, 207 E. Fourth St., Emporium, on Tuesday from 5-8 p.m.
