Coaches vs. Cancer campaign set for Friday

December 22, 2013

The Elk County Holiday Basketball Tournament will undergo a number of exciting changes this year as it becomes the EQT Energy Classic Elk County Holiday Tournament; however, one important element of the annual event will be continuing in a modified capacity.
The annual Coaches vs. Cancer campaign has been held during the tournament for a number of years, and has become a favorite of attendees as it has grown to include a competition to decide the favorite boys' and girls' coach each year and has also provided the opportunity for a lucky fan to leave with a basketball signed by all of the members of the girls' or boys' teams.
While the campaign has been a two-day event in past years, this year it will only be held on the second night of the three-day tournament, Friday, Dec. 27.
