Coaches vs. Cancer raises over $1,200 at Holiday Tournament

The Coaches vs. Cancer campaign at the recent Elk County Holiday Tournament was once again a success, with Roben Daghir, volunteer survivor for outreach and awareness, noting that the group doubled their donations from the previous year.
"At the time of the final count at St. Marys Area High School, we had $1,200," Daghir said. "I have heard from some of the coaches that they had donations given to them following the games. Those donations will be added to the $1,200 total."
In particular, Daghir remarked that all eight coaches contributed to raising a significant portion of the total donations through the competition to be named the favorite boys' or girls' coach of the tournament.
The two winning coaches - Elk County Catholic High School varsity girls' coach Ken Pistner and Ridgway Area High School varsity boys' coach Anthony Allegretto - were together responsible for raising over $500.
