The Elk County Board of Commissioners held their regular meeting yesterday morning to approve a variety of topics.
First on the agenda, the commissioners approved the use of the courthouse lawn on July 15 and 22 by the Elk County Council of the Arts for their Summer Concert Series.
The commissioners voted to approve a license agreement made effective as of June 30, 2010, by and between West Penn Power Company and Elk County.
Commissioner June H. Sorg noted the agreement is for an outdoor classroom.
“Our solicitor, Tom Wagner, has been working back and forth with West Penn Power and Allegheny Power and it will take us 20 more years into the contract,” Sorg said.
In other business, the Commissioners voted in favor of approving the State Food Purchase Program [SFPP] Grant Agreement with Northern Tier Community Action Corporation, which commenced on July 1, 2010 and terminates on June 30, 2015.
