The Elk County Board of Commissioners have drafted a response to the Environmental Protection Agency regarding a proposed injection well near James City in Highland Township and request the permit for Seneca Resources Corporation be denied.
The response cites that commissioners have been made aware of "a number of recent news articles reporting a direct connection between injection wells like the one proposed by Seneca Resources and the occurrence of earthquakes."
