Conservation District faces setback in adding technician

The Elk County Conservation District [ECCD] has halted the hiring of a resource conservation technician following a decision by the Elk County Board of Commissioners to revisit the issue.
As discussed at August's ECCD board meeting, the district was unable to secure all of the funding for the new position and sought out assistance from the commissioners to fund half of the position for a period of one year with the other half being funded by the Department of Environmental Protection [DEP].
