Corinne D. "Cookie" Kuntz

Corinne D. "Cookie" Kuntz, 85, a resident at the Hacienda Rehab and Care Center in Sierra Vista, Ariz., and formerly of Elk Towers and 119 Maurus St., St. Marys, died on Sunday, Feb. 19, 2012 following a lengthy illness.
She was born Feb. 15, 1927 in St. Marys, a daughter of the late Clarence T. and Gertrude Klausman Decker. On Nov. 5, 1949 in Sacred Heart Church, she married the late Francis L."Frank" Kuntz, who preceded her in death on Sept. 29, 2005.
Mrs. Kuntz graduated from Central High School in the Class of 1945, and from St. Vincent School of Nursing in 1948, where she became a registered nurse. 
She was a member of the Sacred Heart Church, where she had volunteered for many years. She had also volunteered and had been active with the Cub Scout, where she had also served as a den mother. She was also a member of the Nurse's Study Club and enjoyed going for walks.
She is survived by four sons, James J. Kuntz and his wife Sandra of Sierra Vista, Ariz., Gregory J. Kuntz and his wife Camille of Moon Twp., Phillip G. Kuntz and his wife Andrea of Mentor, Ohio; and Major Daniel F. Kuntz and his wife Brenda of Ft. Gordon, Ga., nine grandchildren, Samantha, Jennifer, Erica and Zachery, Matthew, Michael, Patrick, Nathan and Holden; three great-grandsons, Roger James "RJ," Ryan Michael, and Roger James; a brother, William H. Decker and his wife Thomasine of St. Marys; and a sister, Ruth Anne, Mrs. Donald Goetz of St. Marys.
A Mass of Christian Burial for Corinne D. "Cookie" Kuntz will be celebrated at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 325 Center St., St. Marys, on Saturday, Feb. 25, 2012 at 10 a.m., with the Rev. Eric Vogt, O.S.B., as celebrant. Burial will follow in the St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery.
Visitation will be at the Lynch-Green Funeral Home, 151 N. Michael St., St. Marys on Friday evening from 5 to 8 p.m.
