Corrine M. Alphonso

Corrine M. Alphonso, 84, of 201 Russ Lane, St. Marys, died at her home on Thursday, Jan. 17, 2013 following a lengthy illness.
She was born February 15, 1928 in St. Marys, a daughter of the late George and Bertha Eberl Meier.
On May 8, 1954 in St. Mary's Catholic Church, she married the late Harold Alphonso, who preceded her in death on November 4, 1994.
Mrs. Alphonso was a member of St. Mary's Church.  She was a graduate of Central High School, class of 1946. She graduated from St. Vincent School of Nursing in 1949. She had worked at the VA in Buffalo and then at the former Andrew Kaul Hospital for many years as a registered nurse. She enjoyed reading, helping others and spending time with her family.
She is survived by two sons, Michael Alphonso of St. Marys and Mark Alphonso and his wife Silvana of Maple Glen, Pa.; a granddaughter, Kimberly Alphonso; a grandson, Daniel Alphonso; and a brother Maurice Meier and his wife Louise, Larkspur, Colo.
In addition to her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by a brother, Gerald Meier.
Funeral services for Corrine M. Alphonso will held privately at the Lynch-Green Funeral Home.
There will be no visitation. Burial will be in the St. Marys Catholic Cemetery, St. Marys.
