Among the business items approved by City Council during Monday's worksession was the sale of three St. Marys City Police Department vehicles.
City Manager Dave Greene said the sale was conducted on Wednesday, Sept. 21 at 3 p.m at City Hall. The bids were advertised on Sept. 12 and 16.
The following were the highest bidders: car number one was awarded to Chicago Motors of Chicago, Ill., for a bid of $807; car number two was awarded to Eric Groll of Parkview Road for $915; and car number three was awarded to Ted Garner for $1,257.
Additional bids were submitted from Groll for car number one for $566, from Chicago Motors for car number two at $807 and for car number three from Groll at $586 and Chicago Motors for $807.
City employees Carol Muhitch and Lorrie Levenduski, and Eric Groll, bidder, were present at the sale.
Award notifications will not be sent to awardees as approved by Council.
Council also approved Ordinance Number 268, in regard to compliance with mandatory regulations regarding floodplain management.
Zoning Officer Matt Pfeuffer explained this minor change was time-consuming due to the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) and the state Department of Community and Economic Development (DCED) going back and forth on the specifics of the change, which was eventually approved as sufficient.
"This doesn't happen every year," Pfeuffer explained.
He noted this action was prompted due to a change of date of the city's floodplain map.
