Council alters city manager evaluation policy

July 7, 2012

Photo by Colin Deppen - At Monday's meeting of the St. Marys City Council, members voted to change the city manager's evaluation policy by removing what some considered out-dated language of the policy and function of the evaluation.

With the upcoming annual evaluation of City Manager Dave Greene in September, St. Marys City Council members at Monday's meeting voted to change the manager's evaluation policy by eliminating language which stated it must be used solely for determining the manager's salary.
Council member Bob Roberts said this is a result of the evaluation having never been used for its intended purpose of determining the amount of compensation the city manager receives, adding that the manager's rate of compensation has traditionally been the same as that paid to other non-union employees.
